- Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.

Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering from a recognized university with any of the following subjects:
- Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering (Agriculture/Chemical/Civil/Computer/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical), Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, Zoology.

Selection Process for APSC Forest Ranger 2025
Written Examination – 500 Marks
- Compulsory General Knowledge and English papers.
- Two optional subjects (Bachelor’s level).
- Each paper: 100-200 marks.
Walking Test
- 25 km (Male) and 16 km (Female) to be covered in 4 hours.
Medical Examination
- Fitness and hearing check by Medical Board.
Interview – 75 Marks
- Only candidates clearing the above stages are called for interview.
Training & Bond
Selected candidates will undergo 18 months of Certificate Course in Forestry Training and will be on probation. They must sign a bond of ₹6,00,000/- and deposit ₹6,000/- as caution money.
