Allahabad High Court RO ARO Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, candidates must ensure they satisfy all eligibility conditions. Applying without meeting the criteria may lead to disqualification.
Educational Qualification
All three posts share the same essential qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a University established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification.
- A Diploma/Degree in Computer Science from a recognised institution, OR an ‘O’ Level Certificate from NIELIT/DOEACC Society, OR a ‘CCC’ Certificate in Computer Science.
- Knowledge of Data Entry, Word Processing, and Computer Operation.
- Minimum English typing speed of 25 words per minute on a computer.
Age Limit
- For RO and ARO: Minimum 21 years and maximum 35 years (born not before 2nd July 1991 and not after 1st July 2005).
- For Computer Assistant: Minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years (born not before 2nd July 1991 and not after 1st July 2008).
- Candidates below 21 years as on 01.07.2026 will be considered for the Computer Assistant post only.

Candidates can apply only through online mode at https://exams.nta.nic.in/allhcre or www.allahabadhighcourt.in. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted. Allahabad High Court RO ARO 2026 Selection Process
The selection will be through a Single Recruitment Examination consisting of three stages. All stages are mandatory, and no exemption is granted to any category of candidates.
Stage-I: Preliminary Examination (General Studies)
- Type: Objective (MCQ), OMR-based, Pen and Paper mode.
- Total Questions: 200 MCQs carrying 200 marks.
- Duration: 3 hours.
- No negative marking; no minimum qualifying marks.
- Syllabus covers General Science, History of India, Indian Polity, Economy and Culture, Current Events, General Aptitude, Knowledge of UP, General English and Hindi, and Elementary Computer Knowledge.
Seven times the number of vacancies in each category for each post will be shortlisted from Stage-I to appear in Stage-II and Stage-III.
Stage-II: Mains Examination (Subjective Type)
- Type: Conventional Pen and Paper mode.
- Maximum Marks: 150.
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50 out of 150.
- Sections: Essay Writing in English (30 marks), Précis Writing in English (30 marks), Translation English-Hindi and Hindi-English (25+25 marks), and Comprehension in English (40 marks).
Stage-III: Computer Knowledge Test
- Type: Computer Based Test (CBT).
- Maximum Marks: 50.
- Duration: 20 minutes.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 25 out of 50.
- Candidates are required to reproduce a passage of approximately 500 words in English in the same format within the time limit.
Stage-II and Stage-III will be conducted on the same day in a single shift with a gap of 20 minutes.
Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in Stage-II and Stage-III only. Stage-I marks are used only for shortlisting and are not counted in the final merit. No interview will be conducted for any post.
