- CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET), including NET-Lectureship.
- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by MHRD.

The selection of candidates will be done through the following stages:
Stage 1: Initial Screening – Applications will be screened to shortlist meritorious candidates for the interview based on their GATE/NET/JEST scores and academic performance. The prescribed qualification is the minimum requirement and does not automatically make candidates eligible for an interview.
Stage 2: Interview – Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram. The interview result will be announced through the VSSC website.
