SSC CGL 2025 Eligibility Criteria
To apply for SSC CGL 2025, candidates must meet certain eligibility conditions related to nationality, educational qualification, and age limit.
Nationality
Applicants must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, or East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Educational Qualification (As on 01.08.2025)
- For most posts: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor’s Degree with at least 60% marks in Maths in Class 12th, OR Graduation with Statistics as one of the subjects.
- For Statistical Investigator Grade II: Graduation with Statistics in all three years or all six semesters.
- Final year students may apply but must obtain the degree before 1st August 2025.
Age Limit and Relaxation
Age limits vary depending on the post. Here are some examples:
- 18 to 27 years: Tax Assistant, Auditor, Accountant, Postal Assistant
- 18 to 30 years: Inspector, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Executive Assistant

SSC CGL 2025 Selection Process
The SSC CGL 2025 selection process includes two tiers of computer-based tests followed by document verification and skill/physical tests (if applicable for certain posts).
Tier 1 – Preliminary Test (Objective Type)
This is a qualifying test. The marks are normalized if held in multiple shifts.

Skill and Physical Standards
For some posts like CBI Sub-Inspector, NIA, Preventive Officer, or Excise Inspector, candidates must meet specific physical and medical standards. Candidates will have to apply online through the new SSC website – ssc.gov.in. A One-Time Registration (OTR) is required, which can be used for all future exams.

Correction Window
