Mumbai Port Authority Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2025
Before applying, check if you fulfill all the eligibility criteria for your respective category.
For Graduate Apprentice
- Minimum age: 14 years (no maximum age limit).
- Should possess a graduate degree in BE, B.Com, BA, BSc, or BCA from a recognized university.
- Should not have completed more than three years after graduation by 01.09.2025.
- Candidates having previous experience of undergoing apprenticeship training in the same trade are not eligible.
For COPA Trade Apprentice
- Minimum age: 14 years with no maximum limit.
- Passed the 10th standard or equivalent under the 10+2 scheme.
- Should hold a valid COPA Trade Certificate from NCVT.
- Should not be in the process of undergoing or have done apprenticeship in the same trade.
Reservation benefits and age relaxation will be provided as per Mumbai Port Authority rules.
PH candidates are exempt from paying the application fee in full.

How to Apply for Mumbai Port Authority Apprentice Recruitment 2025
The full application process consists of two steps: registration online and submission of forms offline. Read the following instructions carefully:
Step 1 – Online Registration
- Graduate Apprentices: Register on NATS 2.0 portal.
- COPA Apprentices: Register on NCVT MIS portal.
Upon successful registration, take a printout of the confirmation email or registration form.
Step 2 – Download and Fill the Application Form
- Go to the official MbPA website → People → Career → Job Advertisements section.
- Download the application form and complete it neatly in block letters.
- Paste a recent passport-sized photo and sign in the specified area.
Step 3 – Attach Required Documents
Attach self-attested copies of:
- Educational certificates and mark sheets
- ITI / Graduation certificate
- Age proof (10th certificate or birth certificate)
- NEFT payment receipt
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Registration confirmation form or email copy

Mumbai Port Authority Apprentice Selection Process 2025
The selection will be strictly on merit, without an interview or a written test.
For Graduate Apprentice
- The merit list will be prepared on graduation marks.
- In case of a tie, preference will be given to senior candidates or dependents of MbPA employees.
- Document verification and medical fitness must be cleared by the shortlisted candidates.
- Completion of apprenticeship training does not guarantee permanent employment.
For COPA Trade Apprentice
- Selection on the basis of marks secured in COPA ITI trade.
- Higher qualification candidates will be given preference.
- Age seniority will be used to break ties.
- Medical and document verification will be done before final selection.
Mumbai Port Authority Apprentice Training & Service Conditions
Selected candidates will undergo training for 12 months on a full-time basis in various technical departments of MbPA. The training is intended to provide practical exposure within the actual work environment of the port.
All apprentices have to adhere to the regulations established under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Medical fitness is required before joining, and completion of training does not guarantee direct employment.
